ASOS is where you go if you want a Christmas jumper that does not look like a Christmas jumper from a supermarket. It carries its own label alongside a large pile of other brands, which means the festive rail swings from genuinely nice knitwear to full novelty in the space of two clicks.
The strengths are the fashion-led end and the sheer number of fits. Oversized knits, cropped knits, jumper dresses, maternity options and a men’s range that is not simply the women’s range in bigger sizes – plus the sort of brands that do not bother with a Christmas range at all until ASOS asks them to. If you want a festive knit that is actually in style this year rather than in style in 2014, this is a sensible place to start.
Worth knowing: because so much of it is third-party brands, sizing is not consistent across the range, and the one thing ASOS is genuinely good at is free returns – use them rather than guessing. The women’s selection, including dresses, is considerably larger than the men’s, which is true nearly everywhere but particularly here.
